What we do
Our team ensures an equitable school experience for all students under our care. By utilizing a whole-child approach, we are able to use each child's skill set to create unique and neuro-affirming goals. Easterseals North Georgia Children’s Services supports children with brain-based differences by providing individualized therapy services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology and applied behavior analysis therapy.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
We provide applied behavior analysis therapy for children with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. ABA focuses on skill building in areas such as social skills, language acquisition, play skills, and independent life skills. A board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) works to create an individualized plan of care for each child. As part of a collaborative approach with our Head Start and Early Head Start programs, our ABA services consist of both push in and pull out classroom therapy through 1:1 ABA and group ABA.

Caregiver Coaching and Support Services
Our caregiver coaching and support services are available for all families that have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Our BCBAs provide training units individualized to each child and family. Training topics are specific to parenting a young child with ASD. The ABA and Autism services team also work to provide support services and resources based on the needs of the families we serve.

Navigator Program

Family Navigators provide care coordination for families and children diagnosed with or showing signs of ASD. Family Navigators help families by assisting in identifying any developmental delays and connecting families with resources and information before the delays become barriers to learning and development. Family Navigator’s work to remove barriers for the families we serve by providing resources and support.

Navigator Training

Navigator training is designed for teachers to connect their skills with students in need. Focal students typically have a diagnosis of ASD but the module supports are not limited to only students with brain-based differences. This training is a combination of in-person modules and classroom coaching.

Jameis is a non-verbal student with Autism Spectrum Disorder enrolled at one of ESNG’s inclusive Early Childhood Development Centers. He is learning to communicate using sign language and practices with his peers and teachers daily. Some of his familiar signs are “please”, “thank you”, and his favorite sign is “more” especially during breakfast time. The other children in Jameis’ class have quickly picked up the signs and often encourage and practice with him. Working with his teachers in an inclusive environment has helped Jameis learn to communicate his wants and needs. The inclusive classroom has been a tremendous learning experience for both Jameis and his classmates.
